First is the preparation before operation. Check the graphite crucible: confirm that the crucible has no defects such as cracks and breakage. If there is any problem, it should be replaced in time. Clean the crucible: use anhydrous alcohol or acetone to wipe the inner and outer surfaces of the crucible to ensure that there is no oil, dust and other debris.

Apply protective coating: According to the actual situation, apply corresponding protective coatings such as zinc oxide, talcum powder, water glass, etc. on the inner surface of the crucible to prevent direct contact between metal and crucible and extend the service life of the crucible.

Preheating: Place the graphite crucible in the furnace,slowly heat it to 250~300℃, and preheat it for about 1 hour.When performing smelting operations, add the required metal or alloy to the preheated graphite crucible according to the smelting requirements. Open the furnace door, place the crucible in the furnace, and adjust the heating power to raise the temperature of the metal or alloy in the crucible to the melting temperature. During the melting process, pay attention to the state of the metal or alloy in the crucible to prevent over melting or burning. After the metal or alloy is completely melted, turn off the heating power, take out the crucible, and pour the molten metal or alloy into the mold or casting. After the pouring is completed, wait for the metal or alloy to cool down, take out the casting for subsequent processing.

It is worth noting that the operator must wear protective equipment such as work clothes, gloves, masks, goggles, etc. During the operation, it is strictly forbidden to touch the high-temperature graphite crucible directly with your hands. During the smelting process, pay attention to the temperature, voltage, current and other parameters in the furnace to ensure the stability of the smelting process. It is strictly forbidden to mix and melt metals or alloys of different grades. During the smelting process, if any abnormality is found, the operation should be stopped immediately, the cause should be found out, and measures should be taken before continuing. After the operation, clean up the site, turn off the power, and ensure safety.
